11 killed in motorway accident near Kllar Kahar

ISLAMABAD: As many as 11 people were killed and 25 others injured in a bus accident on the Lahore-Islamabad motorway near Kallar Kahar on Saturday.

A statement from the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) said the accident occurred due to brake failure with a bus going to Lahore from Islamabad. It added that the injured were being moved to a hospital for treatment.

The NHMP statement said that due to the accident, two motorways were closed while the third one was open for traffic.

Reports said that the driver lost control resulting in the collision of bus going from Islamabad to Lahore with the divider line near booth 224. As a result, 11 people, including five women and children, were killed on spot and others sustained injuries.
