RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed 13 terrorists during multiple intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the military’s media wing.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the operations were carried out on March 6 and 7, during which security forces engaged terrorists in five separate encounters.
During an operation in Bajaur District, five terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire. In separate actions in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan, security forces killed three terrorists. Another five terrorists were killed during operations in Khyber District and South Waziristan.
According to ISPR, the terrorists were involved in several attacks. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from their possession.
The military said Pakistan’s security forces remain fully committed to countering challenges along the Afghanistan–Pakistan border and will continue operations against terrorism supported by foreign elements.
The statement added that operations under the national security campaign “Azm-e-Istehkam” are continuing across the country.
