ISLAMABAD: Accountability judge Muhammad Bashir on Monday acquitted former finance minister and PML-N leader Ishaq Dar in a corruption case.
The case related to assets beyond known means of income was registered against Dar in the year 2017.
Earlier, the National Accountability Court had given a clean chit to the PML-N leader and close relative of Nawaz Sharif.
While ending the case, the court remarked that it no longer has the authority to hear the case or release a verdict on pleas seeking acquittal after the National Accountability (Second Amendment) Act 2022.
“We can neither announce a decision in favour of NAB nor can we issue a decision in favour of the suspect. The trial against Ishaq Dar ends here,” Judge Muhamamad Bashir added.
