JHANG: At least 14 people were killed and 29 others injured in a tragic road accident near Quli Faqeer area of Jhang on Wednesday.
According to Rescue 1122, the bus belonging Veterinary University, which was traveling from Jhang to Lahore, collided with a passenger van coming from the opposite direction. The accident occurred when the van attempted to overtake a tractor-trolley and crashed into the bus.
Rescue teams reached the site and shifted the injured to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital after providing first aid. Several of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.
Rescue authorities stated that the deceased include men, women, and children.
District Police Officer (DPO) Jhang Bilal Iftikhar Kiyani and Deputy Commissioner Ali Akbar Bhinder visited the accident site and supervised relief operations.
