RAWALPINDI: Security forces foiled an infiltration attempt by terrorists from Afghanistan into North Waziristan and all the 16 infiltrators.
According to the ISPR, the terrorists made an infiltration bid in Ghulam Khan Keli area of North Waziristan, which was foiled by security forces in a timely action.
The ISPR said that on the night of March 22 and 23, the terrorists which it described as Khawarij tried to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, and after a fierce gunfight all the 16 infiltrators were killed.
Pakistan has been continuously demanding effective border management from the Afghan interim government and it is expected that authorities in Kabul will fulfill its responsibilities, it is expected that the Afghan interim government will prevent terrorists from using Afghan soil.
The ISPR added that the security forces were committed to protecting the country’s borders and eradicating terrorism.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for foiling the infiltration bid of terrorists. He said that the evil designs of the terrorists will never be allowed to succeed, as the entire nation stands by its brave forces of Pakistan.
