RAWALPINDI: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday that security forces killed 18 terrorists during two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Balochistan on October 28 and 29.

According to the ISPR, the first operation was conducted in the Chiltan Mountains area of Quetta District on reports of terrorist presence. Security forces engaged the terrorists, killing 14 of them after an exchange of fire.

In another operation in the Buleda area of Kech District, four more terrorists were killed when security forces raided their hideout.

Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from both locations. The ISPR said the killed terrorists were associated with an Indian-sponsored group, Fitna al Hindustan, and had been involved in various terrorist activities.

The statement added that sanitization operations are continuing in the areas to clear any remaining threats.

It said that the operations were part of the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.

The ISPR reaffirmed that security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue efforts to eliminate terrorism from the country.
