The operations were carried out in areas along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. ISPR said 10 militants were killed in North Waziristan following a successful operation near the border on the night of August 31 and September 1.

The latest action brought the total number of militants killed while attempting to infiltrate Pakistan to 25, according to the military’s statement.

In another operation near the Pak-Afghan border in North Waziristan, security forces detected the movement of a militant group and launched a timely operation, killing seven militants.

Four more militants were killed in two separate engagements during joint operations in Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan districts. Sanitisation operations are continuing in the area to eliminate remaining militants.

ISPR said the repeated incidents along the Pak-Afghan border reinforce Pakistan’s position that the Afghan Taliban government has failed to prevent terrorist groups operating from its soil from carrying out cross-border attacks against Pakistan.

The military said Afghan authorities have also failed to ensure effective border management and fulfil their international obligations in combating terrorism.

Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to defending Pakistan’s borders, while the nationwide counterterrorism campaign under the Federal Apex Committee will continue with full force to eliminate foreign-backed terrorism from the country.
