ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that the secretary general of Commonwealth Patricia Scotland will be arriving in Pakistan on a six-day official visit on Sunday.
This is the first of the Commonwealth secretary general to Pakistan. She is undertaking the visit on the invitation of the government of Pakistan.
Ms Patricia is expected to visit a number of cities and areas that have seen the negative impacts of climate change.
According to an official in the Ministry of Climate Change, the Commonwealth secretary general has for long advocating Pakistan’s vulnerability to natural disaters due to climate change.
Pakistan’s leadership including members of the federal and provincial cabinets, youth leaders, civil society representatives and other stakeholders will brief her about the issues being faced by the government and the vulnerable communities.
