JEDDAH: Pakistan and Malaysia have renewed their commitment to further increase cooperation and linkages in different fields.
The resolve was made at a meeting between Pakistan’s foreign minister Ishaq Dar and his Malaysian counterpart Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Bin Haji Hasan on the sidelines of the OIC meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The two sides at the meeting expressed satisfaction that cooperation in the fields of education, trade and diplomacy between the two countries had been growing and they resolved to further expand the cooperation to more sectors and fields for the betterment of the peoples of theĀ two countries.
The foreign ministers of the two countries also discussed rising global issues, especially the threat to the Middle East peace after the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran.
They also said that international forums such as OIC and the United Nations brought leaders of different countries closer and there was a need to take full advantage of the interactions made in these forums.
Pakistan and Malaysia have close corporation in different fields especially in education, health, sports, and their bilateral trade has seen an increase during the past a couple of years.
