ISLAMABAD: Formal talks have started in Islamabad between the government and the opposition, mainly consisting of PTI leaders.
The talks started between the government and opposition teams at Parliament House with Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq in the chair.
The team representing the government in the parleys comprises Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Rana Sanaullah, Irfan Siddiqui, Naveed Qamar, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Farooq Sattar.
The opposition parties have sent Asad Qaiser, Hamid Raza, Allama Nasir Abbas and others.
The government and opposition teams will hold a series of talks to resolve different issues. However, the government has already said that PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan’s release will not be on the agenda.
