28 senators fail to submit asset details to ECP

Last chance till Jan 15 after which membership of senators will be suspended.

ISLAMABAD: As many as 28 members of the Senate of Pakistan have failed to submit the details of their assets to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

An official of the ECP said that the 28 senators included former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Mian Raza Rabbani, Faisal Sabzwari, Taj Haider, Nisar Khoro and Aun Abbas.

These senators have been given the deadline of January 15 to submit the details and in case of their failure their membership of the upper house of parliament will be suspended.

According to the law, members of the Senate and the National Assembly are required to file their asset details with the Election Commission of Pakistan every year.
