RAJASTHAN: Thirty-three Kashmiri students have been suspended at Mewar University in India’s Rajasthan after protesting against issues related to the Nursing Council, according to media reports.

As reported by the Indian media, the students were suspended for participating in a demonstration concerning the recognition and approval of nursing programs.

The protest was reportedly linked to concerns over the lack of accreditation from relevant nursing councils, which students fear could jeopardize their academic futures.

The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association expressed serious concern over the suspensions, stating that more than 50 Kashmiri students could be affected due to non-approval of nursing council credentials.

The association alleged that the university administration took disciplinary action against 33 students in response to what it described as legitimate demands.

University officials have not publicly detailed the grounds for the suspensions, while student representatives continue to call for a resolution to the accreditation issue to safeguard their degrees.
