LONDON: Police in London arrested 365 demonstrators supporting Palestine Action during a protest at Parliament Square, which turned confrontational.
Protesters held placards denouncing what they described as Israel’s ongoing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. The demonstration, organized by Palestine Action supporters, was dispersed following a heavy police intervention.
Organizers estimated the turnout to be between 600 and 700 participants; however, police disputed these figures.
Authorities have designated Palestine Action as a proscribed organization under the Terrorism Act since July 5, 2025.
Under this legislation, membership or support of the group carries a maximum sentence of 14 years imprisonment.
The incident highlights the ongoing tensions surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and raises questions about the balance between the right to protest and national security concerns in the UK.
