LAHORE: Lahore police carried out a crackdown on kite flyers, arresting 39 individuals involved in the activity.
Under the direction of SP Cantt Akhtar Nawaz, Cantt police conducted targeted operations to apprehend those violating the law.
According to a police spokesperson, the arrested included individuals named Asif, Adeel, Nasir, Owais, Waqar, Qaiser, among others. The suspects were caught red-handed with kites and strings in various areas, including Harbanspura, Baghbanpura, and Batapur, where 13 kite flyers were arrested. Factory Area, Defence A, South Cantt, and Defence B accounted for 12 arrests, while North Cantt, Mustafa Abad, Hair, Ghazi Abad, Barky, and Defence C saw 14 individuals taken into custody.
SP Cantt Akhtar Nawaz emphasized that kite flying is a life-threatening activity and urged parents to keep their children away from this “dangerous and bloody game.” Cases have been registered against the suspects, who have been handed over to investigators for further legal proceedings.
The police reiterated a zero-tolerance policy against kite flyers, kite makers, and kite sellers to ensure public safety in Lahore.
