RAWALPINDI: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has reported that 40 civilians and 11 personnel of the armed forces were martyred in unprovoked attacks by Indian forces on the night between May 6 and 7.
According to the military’s media wing, Indian forces launched indiscriminate and condemnable attacks, deliberately targeting innocent civilians, including women, children, and the elderly.
The ISPR confirmed that among the 40 civilian martyrs were 7 women and 15 children. In addition, 121 civilians were injured, including 10 women and 27 children.
In response to the aggression, the Pakistan Armed Forces carried out a strong retaliatory operation. During the defense of the homeland, 11 military personnel embraced martyrdom, and 78 others sustained injuries.
The martyred personnel include: Naik Abdul Rehman, Lance Naik Dilawar Khan, Lance Naik Ikram Ullah, Naik Waqar Khalid, Sepoy Muhammad Adeel Akbar, Sepoy Nisar
From the Pakistan Air Force: Squadron Leader Usman Yousaf, Chief Technician Aurangzeb, Senior Technician Najeeb, Corporal Technician Farooq and Senior Technician Mubashir.
ISPR stated that the supreme sacrifices, bravery, commitment, and unwavering patriotism of these martyrs are a timeless symbol of national pride. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
The statement further added that the nation stands united and resolute in the face of aggression, and there should be no doubt that any attempt to challenge Pakistan’s sovereignty or territorial integrity will be met with a decisive and forceful response.
