41 Underprivileged Couples Tied the Knot with Turkish Support

HARIPUR: As many as 41 underprivileged couples in Haripur got married at a special mass wedding ceremony organized with the support of a Turkish charitable organization.

The event was attended by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, Vice Chairman of the Turkish charity and others.

The solemnization of the marriages was conducted by federal minister who also provided each bride with essential household items as part of the ceremony. The newlywed couples were presented with bridal gifts worth over 400,000 rupees besides a cash gift of 200 US dollars from the Turkish delegation.

The minister praised the initiative by the Turkish charity, calling it a noble act of kindness. He also conveyed congratulations on behalf of the government to the newlyweds and their families.

Nadeem Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the charitable organization, said they had been helping underprivileged and orphaned girls get married with dignity for the past 25 years, having arranged 456 weddings to date. He said the organization provides all the resources typically offered by parents for their children’s weddings.
