PESHAWAR: The Frontier Corps (FC) officials handed over to Afghan authorities 50 Afghan children, who entered Pakistan illegally by breaking the iron fence on the border.
According to FC sources, the 50 Afghan children including girls entered Pakistan by tearing down the iron fence near the Torkham border crossing. The police detained the children and later security forces reached rhe spot.
Sources say that at the request of tribal elders, these children were not arrested for cutting the iron fence and illegally crossing the border. Instead, they were handed over to the Afghan authorities at the Torkham border.
According to FC sources, Afghan children usually smuggle foreign goods through the Torkham border area.
FC authorities have to however demanded the Afghan authorities to stop their children from entering Pakistan by breaking the iron fence un future otherwise action against them would be taken.
