KHARTOUM: Over 54 people were killed and more than 100 injured in an attack carried out by rebel forces in Sudan, according to media reports.
According to foreign media, the rebel army Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attacked a market in the city of Umm Darman with heavy ammunition, killing 54 people and injuring 158.
A week earlier, a drone attack on a hospital in Sudan’s Darfur region had killed 70 people and that attack was also blamed on the rebel RSF.
Fighting between the Sudanese army and the rebel RSF has been raging in Sudan since April 2023, killing thousands of people.
