70 Pakistanis evacuated from Lebanon arrive in Karachi

Embassies of Pakistan in Lebanon and Syria bear transportation cost to ensure smooth evacuation.

KARACHI: As many as 70 Pakistanis evacuated from Lebanon have arrived in Karachi, officials at the Jinnah International Airport told media.

The Pakistans were working in different parts of Lebanon and after the recent attacks by Israel they were evacuated from the country. Four Pakistanis working in Syria also returned along with the expatriates from Lebanon.

The embassies of Pakistan in Lebanon and Syria arranged air tickets for the Pakistanis to ensure their smooth evacuation and travel to back home.

After arrival at the Karachi airport, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Sindh minister Ikramullah Dharejo welcomed the Pakustanis.

The Pakustanis said that from Lebanon they travelled to Damascus by road before being airlifted to Pakistan. They thanked the government of Pakistan for helping them in returning home.
