Accountability court issues non-bailable arrest warrant of Bushra Bibi

NAB told to arrest and produce the wife of jailed former Prime Minister in court on November 26.

RAWALPINDI: An accountability court in Rawalpindi on Friday issued non-bailable arrest warrant of Bushra Bibi in the 190 million pound corruption reference.

The court directed the National Accountability Bureau to arrest Bushra Bibi, wife of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan, and present her in the court on November 26.

The judge of the accountability court Nasir Javed Rana issued the non-bailable arrest by warrant after Bushra Bibi skipped hearing of the case for the eighth consecutive time.

When the court took up hearing of the case today, a lawyer for Bibi presented a medical report issued by a hospital in Peshawar and sought her exemption from appearance.

However, on the objection of the prosecutor the court dismissed the request and issued the arrest warrant. The court also issued a show cause notice to the guarantor of the accused.
