KARACHI: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic fire incident at Gul Plaza in Karachi’s Saddar area.
In a statement, the Prime Minister directed authorities to take action against those responsible for the incident and to ensure that all injured individuals receive full medical treatment and necessary facilities. He said that all possible measures must be taken to protect the lives and property of citizens and instructed officials to provide maximum assistance to affected traders and other victims.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also stressed the need for close coordination among all relevant departments during the ongoing rescue and relief operations. He expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the incident, stating that the government stands in solidarity with them during this time of grief.
According to earlier reports, the fire at Gul Plaza resulted in multiple casualties and injuries, while firefighting and rescue efforts continued for several hours to bring the blaze under control. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
