ISLAMABAD: A delegation of mayors and activists from the United Kingdom held a meeting with caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani in Islamabad on Wednesday.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here, the UK delegation was ed by Lord Mayor of Manchester Yasmin Dar.
The delegation and the caretaker foreign minister discussed a range of matters concerning the two countries and diaspora of Pakistan and Kashmir in the UK.
They also discussed the ways to promote Pakistan-UK bilateral relations and increase global awareness about the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
On January 5, the Kashmiris are observing the Right to Self-determination Day as on this day the UNSC had through a resolution promised to hold a plebescite to determine the future of Kashmir.
The caretaker foreign minister on the occasion stressed the need to highlight the human rights abuses in Kashmir by India occupying forces.
He also stressed the important role of Pakistani diaspora in the UK and Europe to raise the issue of Kashmir.
