LAHORE: The Punjab Council of the Arts has taken a significant step by issuing notices to 10 actresses for performing to unethical and uncensored songs during theatre plays.
The action was taken after an e-monitoring review identified violations of the council’s standards.
The actresses who received notices include Saima Chaudhry, Afshan Khan, Iqra Khan, Hasna Jat, Samar Malik, Masooma Malik, Jia Chaudhry, Phool Chaudhry, Sana Malik, and Chahat Chaudhry. All of them have been given a deadline of two days to submit their responses.
In addition to the notices, the PAKAR (Punjab Arts Council and Revival) administration has sent a letter to the Deputy Commissioner, emphasizing its stance that no one will be allowed to violate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The letter called for strict action to prevent such performances in the future.
