ADB Approves $4.8 Million Loan for Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $4.8 million loan for Pakistan, aimed at supporting the country’s infrastructure and water resource development projects.

According to ADB, the allocated funds will be used specifically for the construction and enhancement of irrigation systems in Balochistan, with a focus on improving the irrigation network in the command area of the Sari Toi Dam.

The project is expected to include the installation of water supply pipelines, which will significantly improve access to water resources for agricultural and local community use in the region.

The bank also highlighted that the funding will support the Chhori Infiltration Project, which had previously faced delays due to insufficient budget allocations.

In its official statement, ADB emphasized that the additional loan approval is part of a broader initiative to strengthen the Balochistan Water Resources Projects, ensuring timely implementation and enhanced efficiency of irrigation and water distribution systems across the province.

The bank reiterated its commitment to assisting Pakistan in achieving sustainable water management and agricultural development through strategic financial support.
