ADB Delegation Assures Sindh of Support for Transport Projects

KARACHI: A delegation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) held a meeting with Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon to discuss financial assistance for various transport-related projects in the province.

During the meeting, the ADB delegation assured continued support for ongoing initiatives as well as cooperation in future transport projects.

Sharjeel Memon informed the delegation that the Sindh government is set to launch Pakistan’s first biogas-powered bus service. He said that the formal process for purchasing biogas buses for Karachi has already begun.

“These buses will not only be environmentally friendly but will also be equipped with modern Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS),” he noted. He added that biogas plants and eco-friendly transport solutions will play a vital role in reducing environmental pollution and promoting sustainable mobility.

The meeting was also attended by the Secretary Transport and CEO of TransKarachi, Fawad Ghaffar Soomro.
