Afghanistan Announce Squad for T20I Series Against India

Afghanistan have announced a 15-member squad for their three-match home T20I series against India, with Ibrahim Zadran named captain.

The series will be played in New Delhi from September 13 to 17 and will mark Zadran’s first international assignment as Afghanistan’s captain.

The 24-year-old was handed the leadership role in March following Afghanistan’s unsuccessful campaign at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 under star all-rounder Rashid Khan.

Experienced fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq has also returned to the squad after recovering from a stress fracture in his right shoulder.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board announced the squad on Monday, with Zadran set to lead the side against India in the three-match series.
