Afghanistan edge UAE, set up Tri-Series Final against Pakistan

SHARJAH: Afghanistan defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 4 runs in the sixth match of the ongoing T20 Tri-Nation Series, booking their place in the final against Pakistan on September 7.

Batting first after winning the toss, Afghanistan posted 170 runs for the loss of four wickets in their 20 overs. Ibrahim Zadran top-scored with 48 runs, while Rahmanullah Gurbaz contributed 40. Karim Janat added 28, and Gulbadin Naib chipped in with 20 runs.

In reply, UAE put up a strong fight but fell short, finishing at 166 for 5 in their allotted overs. Muhammad Waseem scored 44 runs, Asif Khan added 40, Alishan Sharafu made 27, and Muhammad Zuhaib contributed 23.

With this victory, Afghanistan secured their place in the Tri-Series Final, where they will face Pakistan on September 7.
