LAHORE: The Afghanistan Cricket Board has officially withdrawn from the upcoming tri-nation T20 series scheduled to be held in Pakistan.

Following this unexpected move, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has promptly initiated contact with the Zimbabwe Cricket Board to participate as a replacement team in the tournament.

According to well-placed sources, PCB has formally approached Zimbabwe with the proposal to join the series, which is now expected to feature Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe as the competing sides. Originally, the tri-nation series was scheduled to take place in Pakistan from November 17 to 29, 2025, featuring T20 matches between the three nations.

The revised schedule for the tournament is expected to be announced soon, as PCB works to finalize new arrangements.

Afghanistan’s recent decision to withdraw from the November series has led to these swift changes, although the board has not publicly disclosed the reasons behind its withdrawal.
