Aid blockade pushes 300,000 children in Gaza to brink of starvation

CAIRO: Gaza is experiencing a worsening humanitarian catastrophe as the ongoing Israeli blockade on aid has pushed nearly 300,000 children to the brink of starvation.

Over 3,500 infants are also at severe risk due to the unavailability of baby formula and other essential nutrients.

Israel imposed a complete ban on aid entry into Gaza during the temporary ceasefire on March 2, and the restriction remains in place. Humanitarian organizations report that this blockade has crippled relief efforts, leaving the population without access to food, medicine, and other basic necessities.

Oxfam, one of the organizations monitoring the food crisis in Gaza, has condemned the global silence over Israel’s actions. It has held the international community collectively responsible for the deteriorating condition of Gaza’s children.

Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes have continued unabated. Since this morning alone, over 40 Palestinians have been killed in fresh bombardments across the besieged territory.
