MUZAFFARABAD: Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has made it clear that there is no possibility of an alliance with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the region.

Rathore stated that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would continue to rule in Azad Kashmir in the future as well. He said there were no prospects for a coalition with the PML-N and that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had now been effectively wiped out in Azad Kashmir.

Rathore also said that fresh elections would be held in six months with the PPP emerging victorious. He added that PPP was the second most powerful party in the region after Sindh, where it had a significant presence.

It is important to note that after a no-confidence motion in the AJK assembly Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq was removed and Rathore assumed the office. He received 36 votes in favor and two votes against.
