Aleema Khan Rejects Govt Report, Raises Concern Over Imran’s Health
ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has rejected the government’s official medical report and expressed distrust in the doctors assigned by authorities, raising fears about potential damage to her brother’s other eye.
Speaking to media near the Marble Factory checkpoint outside Adiala Jail, Aleema Khan said that today was the last Ramadan iftar held outside the jail. She added that during the next meeting, she would inform Imran Khan about the number of people who had expressed solidarity with him.
She emphasized that the family’s main concern is the treatment of their leader. “We completely reject the government report and do not trust the official doctors,” she stated.
Aleema Khan criticized the Supreme Court for approving a report she considers inadequate. “Is this what they call a medical report? The judges in the High Court were fair and asked the Advocate General important questions, who responded that taking the leader to the hospital could disrupt law and order. What kind of excuse is this? It seems the decision was drafted elsewhere,” she said.
She further alleged that Imran Khan is being deliberately kept in jail to cause damage to his eye, calling it a “criminal act.” She questioned the appointment of two unnamed doctors by the Chief Commissioner, saying, “We don’t know these doctors. How can we trust the Chief Commissioner?”
Aleema Khan also said that Dr. Uzma’s petition will now be taken to the Supreme Court by their lawyer, and vowed to continue their struggle. She added that Imran Khan’s meetings are being restricted to prevent the family from learning about his eye condition, raising fears that his other eye may also be affected.
