RAWALPINDI: Restrictions on meetings with former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail have caused concern among his family members and supporters.
Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, has announced the organization of prayers outside the jail in protest against the restrictions. In a statement posted on social media platform X, she said that a collective recitation of Surah Yaseen will be held outside Adiala Jail on Tuesday at 1:00 pm.
According to Aleema Khan, special prayers will be offered for martyrs, individuals allegedly detained unjustly, and all those facing oppression and injustice. She emphasized that the gathering will be peaceful and religious in nature.
Sources say that strict limitations have been imposed for some time on meetings between Imran Khan and his family members, party leaders, and legal counsel. PTI has described these measures as political victimization.
The party maintains that denying meetings is an attempt to isolate and pressure the former prime minister. Aleema Khan has appealed to party workers and supporters to participate peacefully in the prayer gathering.
