Aleema Khan, 400 Others Booked for Sit-In Outside Adiala Jail

RAWALPINDI: Police have registered a case against Aleema Khan, sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, along with around 400 individuals for staging a protest outside Adiala Jail.

According to police sources, the case was filed by Saddar Bairuni Police Station under sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act. The FIR names 35 individuals, including Aleema Khan, Noreen Niazi, Qasim Khan, Salman Akram Raja, and Aliya Hamza. Several other political workers and activists have also been nominated.

The FIR includes charges under Section 120 for allegedly conspiring to attack the state. Police said that 14 suspects were arrested from the scene late last night and have been presented before an Anti-Terrorism Court.

Authorities allege that the protesters violated Section 144, blocked roads, raised slogans against the government and state institutions, and incited others to protest.

The FIR further claims that the protesters attacked police personnel with stones and glass bottles, interfered in official duties, and damaged police uniforms during clashes.

Police stated that despite repeated warnings, the demonstrators continued their protest, causing inconvenience to the local population and disrupting public order.
