RAWALPINDI: Aleema Khan has expressed deep concern about the lack of medical updates on her jailed brother’s health and criticized the authorities for denying the family access to him.
Despite claims that Imran’s eye condition is serious, the family remains in the dark and has not been provided with his medical report. Talking to media outside Adiala jail, Aleema Khan stated that even after the news about his vision issues was leaked earlier in the day, they were not allowed to meet him.
Speaking alongside her two sisters at a checkpoint near the marble factory on the road leading to Adiala Jail, Aleema Khan stated, “Today we were informed that Imran’s eye problem is serious. We thought we would be allowed to meet him, but once again, we were denied.” She pointed out that while Nawaz Sharif’s personal doctor was allowed to stay in the jail all day, the same privileges were not being granted to their family.
“Over the past two weeks, it has become apparent that Imran’s eyesight has been severely affected. We were told that if he is not examined soon, he could lose his vision,” Aliema Khan explained. She emphasized that the family had been waiting for the medical report, but authorities have not shared any details so far.
Meanwhile, Noorain Khan, another sister of Imran, demanded that her brother should be provided immediate medical treatment. “They travel to London for a cold, but they never go to PIMS. Imran Khan needs urgent medical attention,” she said.
