PESHAWAR: The provincial apex committee at a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s House here on Thursday approved all the 16 demands presented by the Bannu Jirga.
The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, was attended by high officials, including the corps commander Peshawar and the IGP.
According to sources, the Bannu Jirga had presented demands for enhanced security measures, including nighttime police patrols and activation of CTDS, as well as effective action against terrorists.
The chief minister has also announced a visit to Bannu, where he will address the participants of the sit-in. The move is seen as a significant step towards addressing the concerns of the people of Bannu and restoring peace in the region.
The provincial apex committee meeting was held in response to the growing unrest in Bannu, where protesters have been demanding action against terrorism and improved security measures.
The demands included nighttime police patrol, activation of the Counter-Terrorism Department, effective action against terrorists, enhanced security measures, and action against terrorists by the CTD.
“We are committed to addressing the concerns of the people of Bannu and restoring peace in the region,” said the chief minister. We will take all necessary measures to ensure the security and safety of our citizens,” he added.
