All is set to hold general elections tomorrow

Over 128.58 million voters will elect their representatives to national and provincial assemblies.

ISLAMABAD: Over 128.58 million registered voters in the country are going to vote for electing their representatives to the national and provincial assemblies on Thursday.

In this regard, the Election Commission of Pakistan has finalized all arrangements while the caretaker government has put in place foolproof security with the deployment of 277,000 army troops and paramilitary force along with the police.

Punjab has the most number of 73, 207,896 registered voters followed by Sindh with 26,994,769, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 21,928,119, Balochistan with 5,371,947 and Federal Capital Islamabad 1,083,029.

The elections will be held on 266 two general seats of National Assembly and 593 general seats of four provincial assemblies.

A total of 5121 candidates are in the race for the National Assembly seats. These include 4807 male, 312 female and two transgender candidates.

For the four provincial assemblies, 12,695 candidates are in the field including 12123 male, 570 women and two transgender.
