LAHORE: The 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to begin on Thursday (today) with all preparations finalized.

According to the revised schedule, the opening match of PSL 2026 will be played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, between defending champions Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kingsmen. The opening ceremony has been canceled, and the match will take place without spectators.

It is important to note that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made changes to the PSL 11 schedule due to the regional situation, prioritizing national interests. Originally, 44 matches were planned across six different cities. However, under the revised plan, 22 matches will be hosted in Karachi and 22 in Lahore.

A few days ago, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stated in a press conference that “today’s sacrifice will result in ease in the future.”

So far, Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United have each won the PSL title three times, while Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, Karachi Kings, and Quetta Gladiators have each secured one title.
