Ambassador hails private sector’s role in promotion of education
Congratulates chief executive of PAGE for being honored by Library of Congress in USA.
WASHINGTON: The Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education (PAGE) has been honored with ‘Successful Practices Honorees 2023 Literacy Award’ by the Library of Congress USA.
Appreciating US government’s support for education sector in Pakistan, Ambassador Masood Khan said over 8,000 students from his country visited the United States last year in pursuit of their education which is 17 per cent increase compared to the preceding year.
Ambassador Khan at a meeting with Fajer Pasha, the PAGE Executive Director Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education, here congratulated her and the entire team of PAGE for their efforts to enhance the literacy rate in Pakistan.
The ambassador said that the government of Pakistan always gave highest priority to education sector, especially for girls.
He said the private sector was playing a vital role in promotion of quality education in Pakistan and the government will continue to provide every possible support to the efforts aimed at promoting education especially in remote areas of the country.

He said organizations such as PAGE would get all possible support from the government in their efforts to promote education and awareness in the country.
