ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted nationwide operations against drug smuggling, arresting eight suspects and seizing over 164 kilograms of narcotics valued at more than Rs 26.2 million.
According to an ANF spokesperson, the operations were carried out in multiple cities, resulting in the recovery of ice, hashish, heroin, and ecstasy. In Lahore, authorities recovered 7.8 kilograms of ice concealed in clothing destined for Australia, and 503 grams of hashish hidden in a parcel to Saudi Arabia.
In Sheikhupura, three suspects were arrested near Chahal Kalan Toll Plaza after 78 kilograms of hashish were found in two vehicles. In Karachi, 39.6 kilograms of hashish were seized in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, while another 30 kilograms were recovered in Gadap Town, leading to the arrest of two suspects.
Additional recoveries included 4.8 kilograms of ice and 300 grams of heroin near Rawalpindi Railway Station, 1 kilogram of ice near Faizabad Bus Terminal, and 2.38 kilograms of ecstasy pills near Gwadar.
All cases have been registered under the Anti-Narcotics Act, 1997, and investigations are ongoing.
