Another case registered against driver in Karsaz accident case

Judicial magistrate allows new case under Hudood law after her medical report showed she was driving under influence of crystal meth.

KARACHI: A judicial magistrate in Karachi East has allowed the police to arrest the woman, who killed a female student and her father and injured three other persons in a hit-and-run accident at Karsaz last week, in another case.

The new case was registered under Hudood law against the woman driver after hearing a request for filing another case against her on the basis of her medical report that showed that showed she was driving under influence of crystal meth. The court directed the police investigation officer to probe the arrested woman before sunset.

The court order said that the doctor had released the report of the medical examination and sample analysis that confirmed that the presence of crystal meth in the body of the land cruiser driver. The court said that the IO was authorized to also arrest the accused in the new case and probe her.

The new case was registered at Bahdarabad police station on the complaint of the state. The new case has been registered under Hudood order. 

according to Section 11 of of this law, anyone found guilty of drinking but not found liable for hadd punishment (those ordained by the Holy Quran or Sunnah) will instead be liable for tazir (any punishment other than hadd) and punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years or with whipping not exceeding thirty stripes or with both.
