ISLAMABAD: Security forces in Islamabad and four other districts – Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, and Chakwal – conducted operations against Afghan nationals illegally staying in the areas and detained more than 100 Afghan nationals and suspects.

The operations, involving over 2,000 personnel from police, Rangers, CTD, and intelligence agencies, targeted illegal residents.

Police reported that searches are also underway at mosques with tight security measures in place at 449 places of worship, markets and residential areas during Ramadan.

Officials clarified that Afghan nationals residing illegally will face legal action, but those with valid documentation will not face any issues. They urged unregistered Afghan nationals to rectify their documents to avoid legal consequences.
