Crimes against women in Pakistan, especially rape cases have risen alarmingly. In Ferozewala, four accused persons gang-raped a woman in front of her husband.
Four accused persons stopped a woman on her way home with her husband at gunpoint in Khuda Ki Basti area near police post Kala Shah Kaku and gang-raped her in front of her husband, Ferozwala police said, the case has been registered against the culprits.
Sources said that due to the motorway tragedy, Ferozewala police station SHO Amir Mehboob has registered an FIR and sealed the case and efforts are being made to suppress the matter, SP and DSP said.
DP Oshikhopura Ghazi Salahuddin told the media that the samples have been sent for DNA, 3 suspects have been shifted to an unknown location for interrogation. Meanwhile, IG Punjab has taken notice of the incident and demanded a report from the RPO.
It is to be noted that a few days ago a similar incident took place on Lahore-Gujranwala Motorway near Gujjarpura, in which two persons gang-raped a woman in front of children, allegedly robbing her of cash, bank cards, and fled with the jewelery.
Police have arrested two accused named in the motorway incident while the third and main accused Abid Ali is still absconding. Efforts are being made by law enforcement agencies to arrest the accused, along with various photographs of the accused persons have been released.
The Punjab government has announced a reward of Rs 2.5 million for the citizen who helped in the arrest of the accused.
