Anti-canals protesters attack federal minister in Sukkur

SUKKUR: Minister of State for Religious Affairs and Inter-Provincial Harmony Kheeal Das Kohistani’s car was attacked by participants of a protest held against construction of the six canals.

He was returning after offering condolences when protesters near the bus stop stopped his vehicle, chanted slogans, and threw tomatoes.

Kheeal Das said that the protesters also pelted stones on his car but his driver managed to drive the car away from the scene. He has informed the SSP about the incident.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called minister Das and condemned the incident. He said the attack was unacceptable and has ordered the Sindh government to conduct an immediate investigation.
