PESHAWAR: Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium in Peshawar has been renamed after PTI founder and jailed former prime minister Imran Khan.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government of the PTI displayed the board of Imran Khan Cricket Stadium despite instructions form Imran Khan to retain the old name of Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium.
The PTI founder had issued instructions not to change the name of the stadium. It may be noted that a PSL exhibition match was scheduled to be held on April 8 at the stadium, but it was postponed.
Recently, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had approved the renaming of the historic Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium .
Arbab Shahzad, son of Arbab Niaz, former chief secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and ex-adviser to Imran Khan, had rejected the decision to change the name of the stadium.
