RAWALPINDI: A Pakistan Army officer was martyred during an intelligence-based operation conducted by security forces in Awaran District, Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.
According to the military’s media wing, the operation targeted terrorists affiliated with Fitna al Hindustan, an Indian-sponsored proxy group. During the exchange of fire, three terrorists were killed.
Major Syed Rabnawaz Tariq, 34, a resident of Muzaffarabad, embraced martyrdom while leading the operation from the front, ISPR said, praising his bravery and leadership.
A sanitization operation is currently underway to eliminate any remaining threats in the area.
The armed forces reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating terrorism in all its forms, stating that the sacrifices of brave soldiers like Major Tariq further strengthen national resolve.
