Asian Development Bank Hails Pakistan’s Economic Reforms

ISLAMABAD: The Asian Development Bank has expressed confidence in Pakistan’s economic reform programs, recognizing the government’s efforts to stabilize the economy and strengthen fiscal management.

Director General for the Central and West Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank, Leah Gutierrez, met Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema in Islamabad to review ongoing cooperation and key development projects.

The Minister appreciated the ADB’s long-standing and consistent support, describing it as a dependable development partner of Pakistan.

He reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to the timely execution of the Main Line-1 (ML-1) railway project, highlighting its importance for national connectivity and economic growth.

Leah Gutierrez praised the government’s reform agenda and acknowledged the progress being made toward macroeconomic recovery and fiscal consolidation, reiterating ADB’s continued support for Pakistan’s development priorities.
