ISLAMABAD: Asif Ali Zardari was administered oath as the 14th president of Pakistan by Supreme Court Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa at President House on Sunday.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, former prime Minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, parliamentarians and others were present on the ocacsion.
Mr Zardari has become first personality in the history of Pakistan to occupy the coveted post for the second time. He remained the president of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013 and was the first politician to complete a full term in office.
Under 18th Amendment, he gave away the presidential powers of dissolving assemblies to strengthen parliamentary democracy. Zardari was elected as the president by assemblies for a five-year term on March 9.
