PM reject Asim Bajwa’s resignation, says satisfy with the evidence

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has not accepted the resignation of Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa from the post of Special Assistant for Information.

A brief statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office said that Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa today tendered his resignation to Prime Minister Imran Khan which was not accepted by the Prime Minister.

According to the statement, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that he was satisfied with the evidence and explanation presented by Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa. The Prime Minister has directed him to continue his work as Special Assistant.

It is pertinent to mention that Chairman CPEC Authority and Special Assistant for Information Asim Saleem Bajwa and his family were accused of disproportionate assets. He denied the allegations and gave details to the media yesterday.

Asim Saleem Bajwa, while announcing his resignation from the post of Special Assistant for Information, had made it clear that he would continue to serve as Chairman of CPEC Authority as the future of Pakistan and future generations is linked to this project.
