ISLAMABAD: Chairman CPEC Authority Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa has decided to resign from the post of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Information and Broadcasting.
Retired Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa informed about the decision to retire from the post of Special Assistant for Information in Arshad Sharif’s program Power Play, a senior anchor person of a private TV channel and said that he made this decision in consultation with his family.
When asked by Arshad Sharif about informing the Prime Minister of his decision, the Chairman CPEC authority said that he would present his position in a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan and request him to take back the additional responsibilities.
Lt. General retired Asim Saleem Bajwa further said that he will continue to work as the head of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and his entire focus will be on CPEC, as it is linked to the future of Pakistan and future generations.
