BANNU: Unidentified gunmen opened fire on the vehicle of Shah Wali Khan, the Assistant Commissioner of North Waziristan, on Miranshah Road.
The attack resulted in the martyrdom of the Assistant Commissioner and two police officers who were accompanying him. In addition, two other individuals, including the driver of the Assistant Commissioner, sustained injuries in the attack.
The injured were immediately transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital in Bannu for urgent medical care.
Authorities have condemned the attack, highlighting the persistent security challenges in the region. The incident shows the ongoing threat posed by terrorist activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the sacrifices made by law enforcement personnel in maintaining public safety.
